Theresa Rae Weedman Miesbauer, long-time UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School staff member, passes away

UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School is saddened to announce that long-time staff member Theresa Rae Weedman Miesbauer passed away on April 10, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Rae, as she was called since childhood, worked at the Gevirtz School Research Office for many years until her retirement in 2000. In addition to her work at UC Santa Barbara she also volunteered for various organizations and was a supporter of the local cancer society and “Vida La Vida” events. She is survived by her husband Robert, her three children, and her sister Mary Erickson.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 24 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 4575 Auhay Drive at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rae’s memory to Santa Barbara Hospice, 2050 Alameda Padre Serra, Santa Barbara, CA 93103.
