Professors Shane Jimerson, Michael Furlong, and Cynthia Hudley of the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at UC Santa Barbara participated in the colloquium of the 2011 International School Psychology Association (ISPA), in Vellore, India, July 19 - 23.
Professor Furlong provided a keynote presentation focused on the field of school psychology understanding and promoting covitality. Professor Hudley presented on the topic of intergroup relationships and student adjustment. Professor Jimerson participated in ISPA leadership meetings, chaired the ISPA research meeting, and presented on the topics of promoting positive peer relationships, and highlighted recent activities of affiliates of the International Institute of School Psychology.
With three faculty members, UCSB had the most scholars from a single institution outside of the host institute the Vellore Institute of Technology. Their presentations provided valuable knowledge to international colleagues.
Professors Furlong and Jimerson are each faculty in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology, and Professor Hudley is a faculty member in the Department of Education.
