The mission of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is to promote equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. Since 1881, members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day – educational, social, economic, and political. Consequently, AAUW is involved in such activities as public policy efforts, programs, and diversity initiatives.
