Igor Himelfarb of UCSB’s Gevirtz School won a 2011 Western Psychological Foundation Student Scholarship presented by the Western Psychological Association (WPA). The award is given to WPA student members whose first-author presentations are judged to be highly meritorious by the Program Review Committee.
Himelfarb is a Ph.D. candidate in the Research Methodology emphasis of the Department of Education at the Gevirtz School, and an MA student in the Department of Statistics and Applied Probability. His academic advisor is Professor Emerita Rebecca Zwick. Himelfarb’s interests are in the areas of applied statistics, psychometrics, and standardized testing.
