Jane Close Conoley, Dean of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School, will moderate the panel “Shattering the Glass Ceiling” on Wednesday, October 22 at 5:30 p. m. in the Faulkner Gallery, Santa Barbara Public Library, 40 E. Anapamu Street. This event, sponsored by the American Association of University Women, Santa Barbara, is free and open to the public. The panel will address the question of what is being done in politics, education, science, finance, and law to shatter the glass ceiling, and what more can be done.
Among the panelists scheduled to participate are: Janet Wolf, Santa Barbara County 2nd District Supervisor; Chandra Krintz, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Computer Science Department, UC Santa Barbara; Judy Guillermo-Newton, Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Organizational Development, Montecito Bank & Trust; Janean Acevedo Daniels, employment law and civil litigation attorney; and Eileen Boris, Hull Professor and Chair, Department of Feminist Studies, UC Santa Barbara.
The program is co-sponsored by the Santa Barbara Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, the American Association of University Women – Goleta Valley branch, and other local organizations.
