Melissa Morgan

Assistant Professor, Ph.D. (Loyola University Chicago)

Emphasis:
Counseling Psychology

Research Interests:
Resilience; Cross-cultural issues; Immigration experiences; Social justice; Subjective well-being

Biography:
I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, with a specialization in multicultural counseling and consultation. I have taught several undergraduate and graduate courses, including Theories of Psychotherapy, Adolescent Psychology, Identity and Pluralism, Introductory Psychology, and Research Skills and Application. I will be joining the UCSB faculty in the Fall of 2007.

My current and recent research includes a qualitative, cross-cultural study of resilience in Mexican National and Mexican Immigrant populations, and various studies of subjective well-being in urban adolescents of color.
