Travel Insurance

The UC provides free travel insurance to faculty, students and UC employees traveling on official business out of state or out of the country. Official business includes travel related to an activity that contributes to one of the University's major functions of teaching, research, patient care, or public service. This insurance helps to cover medical expenses incurred while traveling, medical evacuation expenses, loss of personal property and extraction for political/weather reasons. This coverage also covers a traveling companion. But in order to receive coverage, you must register your trip on line.

Complete information is available at: www.uctrips-insurance.org.

Instructional Development

Instructional development provides a number of free services to support instruction to instructors of record (i.e. professors, lecturers, teaching associates). This includes digitizing slides and pictures. They do not cover material expenses such as CD's, photocopying and printing.

Their policy can be viewed at: http://production.id.ucsb.edu/ and the list of services is given at: http://artworks.production.id.ucsb.edu/.

In addition, they provide $50 per quarter for each instructor to acquire or rent videos and films for classes.

Information is given at http://film.classroom.id.ucsb.edu.
