How To Order Textbooks For An Education Course

Melissa Scheffler, Education Program Assistant, will send out, via email, a call for textbook orders. The call goes out to all Education instructors (excluding TEP) and typically is sent 2 to 3 weeks prior to the first pass for any given quarter. The “Higher Education Opportunity Act” mandates that textbook information be available for viewing by students at the time of registration, so it’s essential that you submit your order/s by the stated deadline.

The following information is needed for your textbook order. Especially important is the ISBN# for each textbook, along with the publisher/edition, and whether the textbook is required or optional. The information below is needed each time you place an order for books, even if the book is a repeat from a previous quarter.

 Instructor name: _______________________
Course number including section, if applicable: ____________
 Title of textbook: _____________________________________
 Author(s): __________________________________________
 ISBN #: ____________________
 Publisher: __________________________________________
Edition / Please check which you prefer:

____ Newest Edition available from Publisher

____ Specific Edition number? : __________
Is textbook required or optional?: ____________
Total # of desk copies needed: ______________
Names of teaching assistant(s), if applicable: ___________________________

Submit your order to: melissa@education.ucsb.edu

Using ebooks?

If you will be encouraging the use of ebooks to your students and NOT placing an order with the UCSB Bookstore, please submit the following information to Melissa for posting on the UCSB Bookstore website:

Instructor name: _______________________
Course number including section, if applicable: ____________
