Application Checklist

IMPORTANT: Applicants to the Department of Counseling, Clinical and School Psychology for Fall 2012 admission MUST take the GRE by October 15th, 2011 in order to be considered for admission.

Have your GRE and TOEFL (Internet-based or paper-based only) or IELTS scores handy.
Get a paper and pencil to write down your online username and password. (Do not forget your username and password, you will access your electronic application many times throughout the application process).
Plan to spend at least an hour of uninterrupted time to complete the electronic application.

1. Application for the UCSB Graduate Division (Online Electronic
Application)
Go to http://www.graddiv.ucsb.edu/eapp and
START a New Application
Be sure to write down your username and password.
If you have problems online with the eapp, email questions to gradadmissions@graddiv.ucsb.edu
Please note: Supporting materials that have been received will be updated with the "date received" on your online application status page only after you have submitted and paid for your online application.
2. Pay the non refundable $80.00 Application Fee ($100 for International Applicants). Payment
may be either by Credit Card (Visa and Master Card only), Check, or
International Money Order. The fee must be in US funds and drawn from a
US bank. Do Not Send Cash. For Credit Card Payment, please follow the directions
at the end of the electronic application.
If Paying by Check:
Make your check or money order payable to UC Regents.
Write your name and date of birth on the method of payment.

3. Prepare and Send Your Application Materials
to the Student

Send 2 copies of official transcripts. You need to send 2 official transcripts from any University, College, Community College etc. where you have taken 12 or more units. We do not require high school transcripts regardless of the Advanced Placement units attained there.
Send at least 3 Letters of Recommendation. Letters must arrive electronically via your online application. You will be asked to supply the name, email address, and current institution/company of each recommender. The system will then allow you to press a button labeled ‘send request.’ The online application will then send instructions to each of your recommenders via email regarding how to upload letters to your electronic application. Once you submit your online application, you can still manage your letters of recommendation through your E-App Status Page.
Upload your Statement of Purpose, Personal Contributions/Achievements and Resume/CV.
If required, upload a Writing Sample (for Department of Counseling, Clinical, & School Psychology, Educational Leadership and Organizations emphasis, Special Education, Disabilities, and Risk Studies emphasis).
Have your GRE (or MAT, option for the Teacher Education Program only) and TOEFL or IELTS scores electronically transmitted by the testing service to UCSB. The UCSB institution code for the GRE is 4835. The UCSB institution code for the MAT is 1964. Department codes are not needed. Electronic transmission of scores is required. You may mail a paper copy of your GRE and/or TOEFL scores in addition to the electronic transmission of those scores by the testing service to UCSB. In addition to sending the scores electronically make sure to go back into your UCSB on-line application using your email password, go onto the application status page, and enter the ETS registration number and test date that can be found on your ETS official score sheet which only you know.

Note: UCSB requires that the General GRE test be taken. The General Test consists of the Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing sections. If any section of the general test is missing, the scores will be considered incomplete.
Note: UCSB accepts the internet-based (minimum score 80) and the paper-based TOEFL (minimum score 550) scores only. The computer-based TOEFL is not accepted.
4. Check the Deadlines and Specific Requirements in the Department
/ Program Information Grid.
5. Login to your Electronic Application to see which application
materials have arrived at the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.The database
will be updated as materials arrive, so please check back often!
Steps for checking your electronic application
Go to the Graduate Division
Application website and choose Login.
Enter in your Username and Password and click on Enter
Application.
Scroll down to the Supporting Application Materials information. (To
check if your official GRE, IELTS or TOEFL scores have arrived at UCSB,
please look under the Application Status portion of the Electronic Application
page.)
Once an admission decision is made (Feb-July) you will be able to view the decision on your application status page.
