The Teacher Education Preprofessional Program provides individuals who are considering a career in education with opportunities to participate in school and classroom experiences at either the elementary or secondary level. It gives those who are undecided about a career in education a chance to see if classroom life is really for them. For those who are committed to a career in education, it provides valuable classroom experience in preparation for entrance into a university credential program. Preprofessional experience is required for entrance into most credential programs including the UCSB Teacher Education Program. In addition, UCSB students may enroll in ED 121 and ED 122 for three (3) units of credit.
