I have been a licensed psychologist in the state of California since 1983, having received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 1980. I have also been a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara for over 20 years. My approach to therapy is family-focused, developmental and problem-solving oriented, depending on the client’s needs. My areas of expertise include helping young adults transition to college and address problems with substance abuse, learning disabilities or ADHD, and working with couples and families adjust to changes in their life circumstances.
I am currently not conducting therapy, but am supervising doctoral students in the Hosford Clinic at UCSB.
