3.Payment Options

The Pacific Rim Center recommends payment by cashier¡¯s check made to ¡°UC REGENTS¡± in the equivalent US dollar currency amount. Any transaction fees must be paid by the participant. You may enclose your check payment with your registration form or mail it separately to:

Personal checks and credit card payment will not be accepted. If you would like to make a bank transfer, please email pacrimctr@education.ucsb.edu for our account information. You may also choose to pay the registration fee in cash on-site at the conference. We do not recommend that you send cash via regular mail.

4.Cancellation and Refund Policy

Advanced cancellation made in writing or in email is appreciated. Unfortunately, there is no refund for the registration fee, which is used for processing the registration.

5.Conference Venue and Accommodations

The 2012 Pacific Rim Consortium Conference on Special Education & Disability will be held at Fess Parker¡¯s Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, California, USA. This ocean-side hotel is a short walk to shops and restaurants at historic Stearns Wharf and downtown Santa Barbara.

The Pacific Rim Center for Research on Special Education and Disability at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) has secured room blocks at a special lower rate at the conference venue as well as at a nearby secondary hotel for the convenience of its conference participants. From Santa Barbara Airport (SBA)

The Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, directly adjacent to the University of California, Santa Barbara, is located 7 miles west of downtown. Various ground transportation services are available:

From Los Angeles Airport (LAX)

While the Los Angeles International Airport is nearly 100 miles southeast of downtown Santa Barbara, airfare and ground transportation to and from LAX is oftentimes more economical than travel to and from the municipal airport. Ground transportation to downtown Santa Barbara is easily accessible:

Finding the Airbus from Los Angeles Airport (LAX) to Santa Barbara

1. After you arrive at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), be sure to exit the terminal building on the Lower Level, which is the one for the arrival passengers.

2. Look for the center island that has a GREEN signboard stating ¡°Santa Barbara Airbus¡±.

3. Wait under the signboard for the Santa Barbara Airbus.


4. The Santa Barbara Airbus picks passengers up at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 10:00 p.m. daily. It takes 2 hours 15 minutes to arrive at its downtown Santa Barbara stop.

5. When you board the bus, you just need to mention your name to the driver. The driver should have a record of your reservation. Ask the driver to call Mian @ 805-680-7028 if there is any problem about the ticket reservation.

6. If you miss the Santa Barbara Airbus that has been originally reserved for you, simply wait for the next bus. You can call 1 805 964 7759 or 1 800 423 1618 any time to ask when the next bus will come to the Tom Bradley terminal to pick you up.
