The Center for School-Based Youth Development 2010 Annual Report is now available. Link Probation Risk Assessment and Youth Self-Report of Anger and Positive Psychological Traits to Predict Offense OutcomesThis study is designed to assess multi-systemic factors related to adolescents who have become involved in juvenile justice. Youths at various stages of involvement in juvenile probation (e.g., boys camp, juvenile detention, intake) will be administered a series of assessments including the Resiliency Youth Development Module, the Short Grit Scale, the Multidimensional School Anger Inventory, Children's Hope Scale, and the Strengths and Difficulties Scale. These results will be combined with the Santa Barbara Assets and Risks Assessment as well as probation data including offense history and recidivism rates to answer a variety of hypotheses. Analysis of the Santa Barbara Assets and Risks Assessment and Development of a ScreenerSanta Barbara Probation Department (SBPD) implemented the Santa Barbara Assets and Risks Assessment in 2003. Analyses are designed to understand the ability of the screener to predict recidivism.
