The University of California, Los Angeles was officially founded in 1919. As a public research university, UCLA is committed to the creation, dissemination, preservation, and application of knowledge for the betterment of our global society. The campus is situated in the Westwood neighborhood, approximately 12 miles north of Los Angeles International Airport, 18 miles south of the San Fernando Valley, 7 miles east of the Pacific Ocean, and 15 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles.
Educational program evaluation is an instrumental tool for effective policy-shaping and decision-making. The UCLA site of the UCEC promotes the use of carefully conducted evaluation studies designed to improve social conditions. We provide comprehensive, rigorous training in the theory, methods, and practice of evaluation that encourages analytic thoughtfulness regardless of methodological orientation and consideration for the communities that are affected by decisions that result from applied studies. We are honored to participate in the UCEC partnership and look forward to the collaborative opportunities that it brings.
