Residents of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, as well as UCSB faculty and staff, may receive mental health and career counseling services at the Hosford Clinic. All services are offered on a sliding scale basis (insurances are not accepted). Clinicians work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, and group therapy settings. Families with a child with autism that live in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties may set up services through a regional center. Area residents may use PAC to provide psychological assessment services for the measurement of disorders that affect psychological, emotional, academic, and occupational functioning. Testing is comprehensive in nature, consisting of multimethod assessment of personality, contextual, neuropsychological, and intellectual factors. The International Center for School-Based Youth Development (iCSBYD) is a community of researchers devoted to developing a better understanding of the role of school engagement as a protective force in children's lives and that promotes academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being. The Center’s mission is to engage in research that informs educators how to enhance school engagement and thereby promote all students’ social and academic competence.
