The purpose of the Carol Ackerman Positive Psychology Clinic is to provide services that help build strong, healthy individuals and families in our community, as well as provide state of the art research and training in applied Positive Psychology. Positive psychology interventions focus on accomplishing goals (not focusing on problems) by enhancing strengths to achieve solutions. The Positive Psychology Clinic offers workshops and presentations on building and sustaining positive emotions including happiness, gratitude, hope, forgiveness, and meaning in life.

The mission of the Positive Psychology Clinic is to facilitate existing human strengths that promote meaningful, engaged, enjoyable life. Experiencing ongoing well-being and preventing future mental health problems is our goal. Grounded in the science of positive psychology, the psychological services promote individual, family, and community thriving. Prevention and remediation services include cultivating courage, creativity, optimism, interpersonal skill, faith, work ethic, hope, honesty, perseverance, and the capacity for flow and insight.
