Alumna Caitlin Lepore, Research and Program Evaluation Associate for the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness, will co-present (with Suzanne Grimmesey, Public Information Officer and Chief of Strategy and Community Engagement for the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness) the Zoom lecture “COVID-19 Impact Community Mental Health Assessment and Findings” on Tuesday, March 22 from 12 – 1:30 pm. The webinar is sponsored by the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Department as part of its Psychiatric Grand Rounds. Registration is required. Please register online.

Globally and nationally, the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected many people’s mental health and created new challenges for people suffering from mental illness and substance use disorders. To respond to needs locally, the County of Santa Barbara in partnership with community mental health and wellness partners and stakeholders, developed a survey and invited the community to respond. The data gained from the survey provided insight to the unique needs within the community, which has allowed for individualized interventions and strategies to be developed to support pandemic recovery needs.

This presentation will share the process of developing the survey, how the survey was circulated throughout the community and input gained, review the learnings from data gathered and the process of applying the community input into services.

This course meets the qualifications for one hour of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. There is no charge to Cottage Health employees. There is a $15 fee to non-Cottage attendees who wish to receive continuing education credit.
