Fostering Excitement for and Engagement in 21st Century Literacies

The Tina Hansen & Paul V. McEnroe Reading and Language Arts Clinic is a state-of-the-art research and teaching institute located within the University of California, Santa Barbara. Children in grades 1 through 8 receive intensive, research-based instruction in skills and practices related to fluency, reading comprehension, and various forms and modalities of writing and presenting across the content areas with a particular focus on STEM-related disciplines.

To apply for services, please respond to this initial intake form.

Important Notice about Clinic Rates:

Due to COVID-19 policies that restrict all clinic-related actitives to virtual (online) spaces, all such activiites will be available at no cost to families. This policy will be in effect during the fall, from October through December 2020. Our rates established in August 2018 ($40.00 per single, small-group session and $70.00 for private sessions) will not apply during this period. Parents interested in having their children receive literacy support are welcome to respond to this initial intake survey to start the registration process.

Our in-depth assessments ($210.00 per student) are currently on hold until in-person activities can resume. To learn more about our virtual reading assessment services, please contact administrative coordinator Luis Narvaez (luisnarvaez@ucsb.edu).
