Christopher Ozuna, a third year Ph.D. student studying education policy, and Alexis Spina, a fourth year doctoral student with an emphasis in Math Education, were awarded 2019-2020 Dorman Commons Fellowships. Both ar in the Department of Education.
This fund was established by Dorman L. Commons, who spent eight years on the State Board of Education and three years as the Chairman of the California Commission on the Teaching Profession. It is used to support fellowships of students who are classroom teachers or professional educators returning to work on advanced degrees.
