The previous in-person Department of Education orientation in 2019
The Department of Education at UC Santa Barbara's Gevirtz School will kick off the new academic year with its 2021 New Student Orientation on Wednesday, September 22 from 3-5:30 pm in ED 1213. All newly admitted students are encouraged to attend. Students will have the opportunity to meet the faculty and staff in the Department of Education and join other new students for break-out sessions with Education faculty.
Following this meeting, the Graduate Student Association in Education (GSAE) will be hosting an event and tour of the building for new students as well, from 5:30-6:30 pm.
Almost concurrently, the Department of Education will offer an in-person orientation for second year students admitted during the COVID-19 pandemic. This event will occur 2-4:30 pm in ED 1205.
Following the second-year students’ meeting, the GSAE will host a welcome and question and answer session, from 4:30-5 pm.
