Collie Conoley, Professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School, received the American Psychological Association (APA) 2012 Annual Award for Distinguished Contributions to Positive Psychology. The Award, presented by APA Division 17 (Positive Psychology), honors Conoley’s contributions to science made through publication of either research findings, his contributions to practice that are made through direct service to clients and through research that has clear and immediate implications for direct service, and his contributions to training the next generation of counseling psychologists regarding positive psychology.

Dr. Collie Conoley is the Director of the recently founded Carol Ackerman Positive Psychology Clinic, part of the Hosford Counseling & Psychological Services Clinic at UC Santa Barbara. Among his many publications is the book Positive Psychology and Family Therapy: Creative Techniques and Practical Tools for Guiding Change and Enhancing Growth (Wiley 2009), co-authored with Dr. Jane Close Conoley. Collie Conoley is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and a member of the National Health Service Providers of Psychology.
