Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology

Jon W. Goodwin, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he also serves as the Director of Clinical Training and Credential Coordinator for the doctoral and specialist level school psychology programs. Additionally, Dr. Goodwin maintains administrative, clinical, and supervision responsibilities as the Director of the Ray E. Hosford Counseling and Psychological Services Clinic.

As a school psychologist specializing in developmental neuropsychology, Dr. Goodwin’s scholarly interests include the assessment of learning differences, psychoeducational services for students with advanced intellectual ability, and the cognitive and scholastic functioning of children and adolescents with craniofacial disorders. He teaches courses on theories of counseling and psychotherapy, psychoeducational assessment, and the delivery of psychological services within schools.

Dr. Goodwin completed his doctoral and postdoctoral training at the University of Iowa under the mentorship of Drs. Susan Assouline and Amy L. Conrad. Prior to his current role, Dr. Goodwin held appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Iowa's Carver College of Medicine and clinical psychologist within the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. He also served as senior psychologist at the Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development at the University of Iowa.
