Melissa Beressi is a supervisor and instructor in the multiple-subjects cohort of the Teacher Education Program at Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.
Melissa is a dedicated educator with extensive experience across multiple grade levels and instructional settings. She has provided professional development for several school districts for more than two decades, focusing on pedagogy, classroom climate, and student engagement. She spent many years teaching in multiple-subject classrooms as well as providing specialized instruction in literacy and mathematics with Palo Alto Unified School District. She worked as a PAR (Peer Assistance and Review) coach for four years, assisting veteran teachers with refreshing pedagogy and classroom climate. For 18 years, she served as a BTSA (Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment) coach and induction mentor, supporting beginning teachers in developing effective instructional practices.
A committed advocate for social and emotional learning, Melissa developed and implemented mindfulness and happiness skills-based curricula for students in grades K through 12, educators, and parents.
