flyer for 2022 SCWriP Technology Institute

The South Coast Writing Project (SCWriP) invites teachers of all grade levels who are interested in designing digital writing projects for their students to a conference on Tuesday, June 21 in person and on Wednesday, June 22 on Zoom. This year’s theme examines ways to highlight inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in technology.

After two years of the pandemic and two years of modifying our standard curriculum to meet this monumental crisis, how could K-16 instructors design their writing assignments to create an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible learning space mediated by various technological resources? A Certificate of Completion is available for teachers who need professional development credits. To register for the institute, complete this Google registration form.

The Institute’s sponsor, the South Coast Writing Project (SCWriP), is a network of teachers dedicated to improving student writing by improving the teaching of writing. Directed by Dr. Tim Dewar, they provide professional learning, resources, and expanded roles for teachers throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura and Kern Counties. SCWriP is an affiliated site of the National Writing Project (NWP) and the California Writing Project (CWP) and has its central office in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.
