Emily Bond, Carlen Handley, Asya Litvina, and Courtney Vaccaro of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School have been awarded 2016-17 Lynne Cavazos Fellowships. Bond earned her single subject teaching credential in English, Litvina earned her multiple subject teaching credential, Handley and Vaccaro earned single subject teaching credentials in Science.

The Santa Barbara-Goleta Valley branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) provides this fellowship opportunity for graduate students in the Teacher Education Program as they complete their M.Ed. degrees. This scholarship is named for Dr. Lynne Cavazos, science educator for fifteen years and former acting director of the Teacher Education Program. AAUW supports activities such as public policy, programs with a focus on women’s issues and diversity initiatives.
