Erin Beerer and Jenna Dotts of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School were awarded 2016-17 Dorman Commons Fellowships. Both earned their M.Ed.s from the Teacher Education Program; Beerer also earned a multiple subject teaching credential and Dotts earned an education specialist teaching credential.
This fund was established by Dorman L. Commons, who spent eight years on the State Board of Education and three years as the Chairman of the California Commission on the Teaching Profession. It is used to support fellowships of students who are classroom teachers or professional educators returning to work on advanced degrees.
