Jennie Rodriguez is the recipient of the 2022 Martha Aldridge Promise Award. Talkin is pursuing a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a master’s degree in education in the Teacher Education Program.
Martha Aldridge was a UCSB staff member from 1961 until her death in 1986. The Promise Award, established in her honor by her friends, family, and colleagues, is given to top credential candidates in the Teacher Education Program to assist with the transition to their first teaching position in elementary education.
Jennie Rodriguez graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2018 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Educational Studies. Rodriguez has worked with children and students three months to eighteen years of age in early childhood, elementary, science, and outdoor education settings. She aspires to create an engaging environment for her students where they can learn to collaborate and think critically.
