Liz Holohan, Development Assistant of UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School, will co-facilitate a discussion of the docuseries And She Could be Next on Tuesday, August 18 at 12 noon. The event is presented by UCSB’s Professional Women’s Association (PWA). Holohan and fellow PWA Steering Committee Member Richelle De Los Santos will facilitate the discussion using resources provided by the filmmakers.

And She Could Be Next, POV’s first broadcast miniseries, tells the story of a defiant group of women of color—candidates and organizers—who are transforming politics from the ground up. Filmed throughout 2018 and into 2019, by a team of women filmmakers of color, the two-night special features a dynamic slate of history-makers including: Stacey Abrams (GA), Rashida Tlaib (MI), Lucy McBath (GA), Veronica Escobar (TX), Maria Elena Durazo (CA), and Bushra Amiwala (IL). And She Could Be Next asks whether democracy itself can be preserved—and made stronger—by those most marginalized.

One may join PWA for a Zoom discussion on Tuesday, August 18 for the discussion of And She Could Be Next by registering online.

The 2-part miniseries is available for free streaming at your convenience by visiting andshecouldbenext.com/watch by August 31st.

As Gevirtz School Development Assistant, Holohan is responsible for processing the administrative work related to GGSE Development efforts and coordinating calendars for the Development Director and Associate Director. She currently serves as the president of the PWA at UCSB.
