Dr. Shane Jimerson of the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at UC Santa Barbara presented the keynote address at the national conference of the Japanese Association of Educational Psychologists in Tokyo, Japan. The address highlighted strategies to promote prosocial development and reduce antisocial and bullying behaviors at school. With over 2,000 participants, including psychologists, counselors, teachers, administrators, and government representatives, the national convention of the Japanese Association of Educational Psychologists aims to advance the professional development of support services staff throughout the country.

Dr. Jimerson, a professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology, continues to collaborate with colleagues and professionals to advance professional development to address student needs related to school violence, bullying, school crises, and generally promoting the social and cognitive competence of all students.
