Give Day 2018 #50for50

All UC Santa Barbara alumni or those who are a Gaucho in spirit get to celebrate their pride, share their story, and support the university at giveday.ucsb.edu on Thursday, April 12. And among the many ways one can write UCSB’s next chapter on #UCSBGiveDay 2018, the Gevirtz School is throwing itself a party. The 2017-18 academic year is the 50th anniversary of the school’s graduate status, a half-century of creating education and applied psychology leaders that have helped shape California and the nation.

To honor so much achievement, we’re having cake, refreshments and more in the Zimmer Learning Garden on April 12 from 11:30 am – 1 pm and all Gevirtz School faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends are invited. And if you can’t make it to the Education Building, everyone is welcome to join in virtually for #ggse50for50 online.

Our hope is to get as many people to honor the 50 years of the school’s graduate status with a dollar for each year—we ask a mere $50 from you (less than the price of one coffee out per week!). Your donation can go to the Dean’s discretionary fund or directly to alumni fellowships for students in the Department of Counseling, Clinical and School Psychology or the Department of Education or the Teacher Education Program. Such funding will help us attract the best and brightest students, keep our programs robust and strong, and lead to even greater advances in education and applied psychology for the next 50 years of the Gevirtz School.

But you don’t have to donate to be part of the party, so come join us Thursday, April 12th for the #50for50 Fete.
