The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education is excited to announce the hiring of Dr. Jon Goodwin as an assistant teaching professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical and School Psychology (CCSP).
Goodwin comes to UC Santa Barbara from the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa, where he also maintained a secondary faculty appointment with the Iowa’s Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program. Dr. Goodwin earned his doctorate degree in School Psychology from the University of Iowa, and he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development, also at the University of Iowa. His current teaching interests include intelligence assessment, developmental psychopathology, and advanced practicum supervision. As a licensed psychologist, his primary clinical focus is on providing diagnostic assessment services to pediatric and adult patients with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or specific learning disorders. He also delivers child and adolescent therapy services to address mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
