The Hosford Counseling & Psychological Services Clinic at UC Santa Barbara will be offering two groups this fall on the subject “Moving Forward After Trauma.” Participants will learn powerful skills to help them move forward after trauma to create a life that they value. In either of these six-session groups, one will learn mindfulness and acceptance skills that can help transform emotional pain, free a person from negative thinking, and help one commit to what one truly cares about. There will be one group for students and another for staff, faculty, and community members.
The Group for Students will run Tuesdays, 9:30-11 am and begins October 28. It will last 6 weeks, with no meeting week of Thanksgiving. Cost: Students with Gaucho Health Insurance pay $15 copay per session, and a sliding scale available if a participant has no GHI. The Group for Staff, Faculty, and Community Members will run Mondays, 4-5:30 pm and begins October 27. It will last 6 weeks, with no meeting week of Thanksgiving. Cost: $49 per session; sliding scale available, if needed.
Those interested in the groups should contact the Clinic’s Director, Dr. Heidi Zetzer (PSY14216), or Amber Miller, M.A. at 805-893-8064 for further information or to sign up.
