While there are many university, state, and program requirements, applying doesn’t have to be challenging. Complete the four application steps below and review the Application Handbook thoroughly.

2026-27 Application Deadline: January 15, 2026
Please note the eApplication for the 2026-27 year will open in September.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Complete a minimum of 30 pre-professional hours by the application deadline. Please view our Application Handbook for more information.

SUBJECT MATTER REQUIREMENT

Provide proof of scheduled (or completed) CSET or proof of another CTC approved option by the application deadline. Please view our Application Handbook for more information and a listing of which tests to take.

Statements & Supplemental Documents 

Statement of Purpose

Follow the prompts in our Application Handbook for the credential you are applying to and upload your responses to the eApp. You do not need to answer the eApp questions.

Personal History Statement 

Follow the prompt found in our Application Handbook (same as eApp) and upload your response to the eApp.

GPA Supporting Statement

If your GPA is below 3.0, you will be required to submit a statement regarding the factors that contributed to your lower GPA during your undergraduate period. Please follow the prompt found in our Application Handbook and upload your response to the eApp. 

Application Fee Waiver

A limited number of application fee waivers are available to qualified U.S. citizens and permanent residents who demonstrate evidence of financial need or proof of participation in an undergraduate research program. Applications are within the eApp. You must submit your fee waiver request at least two weeks before the application deadline.

Google Form

ALL supporting program and state credentialing documents should be submitted via our Program & Credential Requirements Google Form.

You may submit more than one copy of the Google Form, should you need to update the completion status of your requirements. Please view our Application Handbook for more information.

  • Bilingual Authorization in Spanish Statement (optional)

Due if admitted

  • Basic Skills Verification
  • Certificate of Clearance -- We recommend starting this process shortly after submitting your application.
  • Tuberculosis Clearance
  • CPR Certification -- There will be CPR certification classes held during Summer if you do not have your CPR Certification.
  • Mandated Reporter Training
  • U.S. Constitution Requirement

Applicants with fully complete paid and submitted applications will be invited to participate in an interview. The interview will provide a chance for applicants to demonstrate their communication and teaching skills and meet with various partners who make up TEP. Interviews may be in an individual setting, group setting, or both, depending on the program. After the application deadline, you will receive an email with information on how to RSVP for the interview. 

If an applicant does not RSVP to an interview invitation via email or does not attend an interview date, the application will not be considered and marked incomplete.
